Three members of the steering committee: myself and Colette D’Alessandro of Ping Identity and Emma Lindley of Innovate Identity, hosted the first Women in Identity (WID) London Chapter event at the Barclays’ RISE building based in Shoreditch, London. Barclays and Ping Identity sponsored the event which was attended by over 25 women from many different organizations in the identity industry. The meeting went through WIDs' Mission and Vision and the organization's journey thus far. Following that, a speaker panel included Alexi Walsh from GBG, Isabel Cooke from Barclays, and Colette D’Alessandro from Ping Identity spoke about their experiences in the industry. Andi Hindle spoke on behalf of the IDPro Board on how they are collaborating with WID, followed by Sue Dawes from the Open Identity Exchange who presented the Women in Identity Internship Program they are sponsoring. The event was a huge success and everyone enjoyed cake and champagne! The group hopes to continue the event quarterly with the next one scheduled tentatively for Monday 23rd April.
