What is OpenID for Verifiable Credentials
OpenID for Verifiable Credentials (OID4VC) consists of the several specifications most of them are maintained by the Digital Credentials Working Group and can be found at the DCP WG’s specification sub page.
Those specifications still maintained by the Connect Working group are:
- Self-Issued OpenID Provider v2 (SIOPv2)– Enables End-Users to use OpenID Providers (OPs) that they control
– Editors’ Draft
– Working Group Draft
– First Implementer’s Draft
- OpenID Connect UserInfo Verifiable Credentials – Enables user attributes currently provided from the OpenID Connect UserInfo Endpoint to be issued as Verifiable Credentials.

To find a text for a specific version of a WG draft of a specification, add ‘-[version number]’ in the end of a URL. For example, to find version 14 of OID4VP, append ‘-14’ to the WG draft’s URL and visit ‘https://openid.net/specs/openid-4-verifiable-presentations-1_0-14.html‘.
To find a text for a specific Implementer’s Draft, ‘-ID[ID number]’ in the end of a URL. For example, to find first Implementer’s Draft of OID4VP, append ‘-ID1’ to the WG draft’s URL and visit ‘https://openid.net/specs/openid-4-verifiable-presentations-1_0-ID2.html‘
