Introducing the OpenID Well-Known Conference
In 2027, the OpenID Foundation will host its inaugural conference. We are bringing the world’s leading experts and ambitious builders together to advance ecosystems – and progress the standards they depend on.

- Sponsorship: Members interested in sponsoring can review the Sponsor Prospectus and email the Conference Team. Note that there is a 3-week exclusivity period for Sustaining Member sponsorships until August 24, 2026.
- Speakers: We are now accepting submissions on a rolling basis through September and will begin announcing speakers in the fall.
The Foundation
Beginning with OpenID Connect, OpenID Foundation standards are well known by implementers and have been adopted within millions of applications worldwide.
OpenID’s FAPI security profiles have been used to secure open finance, open health, and other open data ecosystems all around the world. Meanwhile, many of the world’s emerging verifiable credential ecosystems have selected OpenID Digital Credentials Protocols WG standards to underpin and support their roll-out.
Our community of deep technical experts is often called upon to support and advise the ambitious builders of emerging ecosystems – and the OpenID Ecosystem Support Community Group works hard to document and apply the valuable lessons learned from past implementations.
This conference invites builders to come together, learn from one another, and shape a vision for the trusted data ecosystems of the future.
Advance and Scale Ecosystems
The OpenID Well-Known Conference is uniquely focused on scaling trusted identity and open data ecosystems around the world – and advancing the technologies that enable them.
Day 1 will focus on the leaders of some of the most ambitious ecosystems in the world, who will share the lessons they have learned on their path to adoption and scale.
Progress Standards
Over days 2-3, participants are encouraged to get directly involved.
OpenID Foundation Working Groups are invited to hold meetings, interoperability events, demonstrations, and hackathons.
We hope that ecosystem leaders, partners, and practitioners will participate – learn about standards development and, importantly, share their use cases with the experts who build the standards.
