The purpose of the Digital Credentials Harmonized Presentation Working Group is to support the joint initiative by ISO/IEC JTC1/SC 17 (ISO) WG10 and WG4 and OpenID Foundation (OIDF) DCP WG to harmonize their respective credential exchange protocols for in-person and online credential presentation.

1) Working Group name

Digital Credentials Harmonized Presentation (DCHP) Working Group (WG)

2) Purpose

Support the joint initiative by ISO/IEC JTC1/SC 17 (ISO) WG10 and WG4 and OpenID Foundation (OIDF) DCP WG to harmonize their respective credential exchange protocols for in-person and online credential presentation.

Pending the formal decision by ISO and OIDF to create a joint ISO and OIDF PSDO (Partner Standards Development Organization) for the joint development of the harmonized credential exchange protocol, this WG is also responsible for the decision and transition of the deliverables of this group to the PSDO.

3) Scope

Creation of a specification that harmonizes in-person and online presentation of credential exchange protocols ISO/IEC 18013-5 DeviceRequest/Device Response and OID4VP Authorization Request/Authorization Response by supporting the coexistence of multiple credential formats (mdoc and SD-JWT VC) for in-person and online.

4) Proposed specifications

Technical specification for a harmonized Digital Credentials Request Protocol defining the converged presentation protocols.

5) Anticipated audience or users

Members of ISO WG10, WG4, and OIDF DCP WG.

6) Language

English.

7) Method of work

Given the intent for the specification(s) to be adopted by both ISO WG10 and OIDF DCP WG, this WG will follow the Working Procedures (see Exhibit) to ensure an effective working relationship between participants from both organizations.

8) Basis for determining when the work is completed

As per the Publication Process described in the Working Procedures (see Exhibit).
This WG and all deliverables will transition to the PSDO if the joint ISO and OIDF PSDO has been created and has had its first meeting.

The work is planned to be done in liaison with ISO/IEC JTC1/SC 17 (ISO) WG10 and OpenID Foundation (OIDF) DCP
